Mengcun is the birthplace of Kaimen Bajiquan - an excellent traditional quanshu in North of Chinese. In its three hundred years of development, Bajiquan is famous in Wushu Circle for its characteristics of shock attack, shoulder closing to shoulder, launching strength closely; it is an unusual Chinese wealth of spirit and culture.

In 5th year of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty (1727 A.D.), a juvenile named Wu Zhong in Mengcun Town who likes Wushu very much once met a southern roaming Wushu masterhand self-called "Lai". "Lai" regarded Wu Zhong as a honest boy, so he took him apprentice and taught him quanshu, and then left years later. In 10th years of Yongzheng (1732 A.D.), another man self-called "Pi" came to Mengcun to look for Wu Zhong, saying ordered by his master to visit, taught Wu Zhong "Liuhe Daqiang" and send him "Open Sesame of Quanxie". Nothing can be known about them except for the one word of their names. In 40th year of Qianlong (1775 A.D.), Wu Zhong began to teach Bajiquan to his daughter Wu Rong, his grandson of the same family Wu Zhongyu and his great grandson of the same family. Since then, Bajiquan started to be known to others.

Bajiquan has developed fourteen generations since Wu Zhong. It has been spread to more then twenty provinces, cities, municipalities, and some countries and districts like Japan, Korea, America, Italy, Hongkong, Taiwan as well.

Bajiquan is the traditional physical item of Mengcun people, it is famous in Wushu circle for the technical characteristics of shock attack, shoulder closing to shoulder, strength launching closely. It is an unusual Chinese wealth in spirit and culture. It has rich content and is a perfect system by itself. There are more than forty quanshu such as Bajixiaojia, Bajidanda and Silangkuan, etc. The sets of acts of apparatus include Liuheqiang, Tiliusanyindao, Xingzhebang, Jiugongchunyangjian. And there are many sets of acts that can be practice for quanshu and apparatus.
